Teaching Biography/ Resume:
The painter, David Glynn was educated at the Rhode Island School of Design,
the San Francisco Art Institute and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.
He has taught in the Digital Media Department at Otis College of Art and Design
and received an "Excellence Award in Art Education" for teaching the Advanced
Painting Course at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA or
"Arts High.") He continues to teach Portfolio Preparation and Painting to area
students.
He has exhibited his art in numerous exhibitions, including a solo show at the
Bergamot Station Arts Complex in Santa Monica. Glynn has been written about
in many publications including the New Yorker Magazine and the New York Times
and was "Pick of the Week" in the L.A. Weekly for his mural size print "4096:Trust
Time".
David Glynn's work has attracted the interest of collectors, curators and critics:
In
the L.A.Times,Mary McNamara quoted Glynn "A true muse is part of the
creative process, an example of how being seen is a creative act."
In
Art Review critic Laurent Chobert describes Glynn as an artist with "consummate
skill. . . [who] executes a seamless marriage of modern technology and whimsical
playfulness without losing either sensibility or coherence..."
In
Micropublishing News reviewer James Cavuoto wrote "David Glynn,
a New York City based multimedia artist, might cringe if someone compared him
to Michelangelo. But Glynn's recent work bears more than a little resemblance
to 'The Fall of Man' from the Sistine Chapel ceiling..."

In the "Talk of the Town" section of The New Yorker, Mark Singer
quoted "...painter David Glynn (who)... for his own work, has photographed
dozens of nude models..."

The New York Times Roberta Hershenson, describing a painting commision
of Glynn's wrote "...The result is a series of images of a long-haired,
discreetly topless young woman tumbling dreamily through the deep..."
